Unboxing Delight
We all like unboxing the gadgets. Unboxing smartphones, and peeling off their screen guard is one of the best feelings in the world. So after unboxing the Honor 90, we were not surprised. Honor 90 also follows the Apple footprints as there is no charger in the box. We just get a handset inside the box. So happy and easy unboxing as we don’t have much to unbox.
Design and Build Quality
The design and build quality of HONOR 90 is great. It is slim(7.8mm), beautiful and light weighted (183 grams only). We can easily hold the mobile in our hands but not for small hands as the display is huge. A new smartphone looks stunning no matter what the design is.
We checked the fingerprint scanner and didn’t find it. Checking further we could find an in-display fingerprint scanner which is fast.
Moreover, on the right side of the Honor 90, we can see a power button and volume buttons as usual.
At the bottom of the smartphone, we get dual SIM slots, a charging port (Type-C), a microphone and speakers.
Seeing the backside of the Honor 90, we see a glass back which looks elegant. We also get other designs which have a matte finish for those who don’t like fingerprints on their smartphones.
Display Brilliance
One of the standout features of the Honor 90 is its vibrant and immersive display.
Honor 90 comes with a huge 6.7-inch Full HD + AMOLED + bezel-less display with quad 3D curved corners.
The display is sharp with 2664 x 1200 pixels along with a peak brightness level of 1600 nits and you will not notice any issues in the direct sunlight. The video and photo look stunning coming out of the screen with deep blacks and vivid colours.
Talking about the Honor 90 refresh rate, the display comes with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz meaning that the scrolling will be more smoother. Now you can scroll Instagram, Facebook or any article like this one like a pro. But having a higher refresh rate means that it would take more battery. But the battery isn’t a problem in Honor 90.
Performance Powerhouse
The Honor 90 is powered by a highly efficient processor and we have a lot of RAM available. This will ensure that the. multi-tasking is seamless and going apps, playing high-intensity graphic games, or any other tasks in which the smartphone does the heavy lifting.
Honor 90 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 along with an Adreno 644 GPU. Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is not the latest in the market but Honor 90 got a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Mobile Platform Accelerated Edition which is capable of peak CPU speeds of 2.5 GHz as per the vendor Qualcomm.
Talking about the RAM and ROM, Honor 90 RAM is up to 12GB and we get internal storage up to 512GB.
Honor 90 Antutu score for an 8GB 256GB model is ~550948. This is not considered the best but neither it is shameful. We can say it is a respectable score.
Camera Capabilities (200MP+12MP+2MP)
The camera setup on the Honor 90 is nothing short of impressive. In Honor 90 we get a primary camera with a massive 200MP which has Samsung sensors. On paper, it looks good but in the actual world also it takes decent photos and videos.
Along with a 200MP primary camera, we get two more sensors with a 12MP ultrawide and a 2MP depth sensor.
In the daylight, we got great camera output as expected. The blacks and whites are accurate. Talking about the nighttime, the camera works well though zooming will burst the photos a little as we see little noise but good to see normally through the naked eye.
The videos can be taken with a resolution of up to 4K at 30fps which is OK as other smarthones are giving 4k at 60fps as well. But this is not a deal breaker.
We can tweak the pics using different camera features like HDR, story mode, AI video, multi-video etc.
Battery Life that Keeps Up

Honor 90 battery life is pretty good with a 5000mah capacity which is more than the threshold and above the market benchmark. The Honor 90 comes with a generous battery that easily lasts through a day of heavy usage. We can still get around 40% battery at the end of the day with all the day-to-day tasks.
Honor 90 charging speed matters because we want to use the mobile more and don’t want to keep it near the charging point. Honor 90 supports up to 66W fast charging meaning it would take a little more than an hour to fully charge the smartphone.
Please note that we don’t get a fast charger out of the box which is expected nowadays but not liked by normal buyers like us.
Software Experience
Running on the latest version of Android with Honor’s custom MagicOS, the software experience is intuitive and user-friendly but not as great as stock Android. Since this is not a stock Android version, we get a lot of options to customize the looks. We don’t have buggy stock apps that hold up a lot of storage except a few Honor apps.
