What is special about Apple Watch Ultra 2? Check if Worth

The Performance: No compromise

• The Apple Watch Ultra 2 processor has been improved which is expected in every new version of an Apple device. But the improvements are better here. The Ultra 2 watch houses an all-new Apple Silicon S9 chipset with a 64-bit dual-core processor which is more powerful than the one provided in the earlier versions. S9 is claimed to have increased efficiency by up to ~50% making it faster than its predecessor.
• We have got a new 4-core Apple neural engine which makes the watch even faster.
• We have a 30% faster GPU(Graphics Processing Unit) which makes the watch faster and smoother.
• The Watch Ultra 2 is also powered by the new S9 processor, like the Series 9, which means there is much more power inside than before.

Display: The best change

• In the Apple Watch Ultra 2 the display quality has been improved. We have a brighter 3,000 nit display as compared to 2,000 nits in Apple Watch Ultra, iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. This helps to look at the watch screen without any issues even in direct sunlight.
• Regarding the display brightness level, it can go down to 1 nit which is lower than the one available in Watch Ultra. This will help in battery saving in a great way as per Apple.

Battery: A considerable improvement

Apple Watch Ultra 2 is one of the best smartwatches which has a great battery lifetime. It can keep up for 1.5-2 days on a single charge but of course, it depends on the usage. Making it more interesting, in low power mode, the battery life can go up to 3 days.

We tested the watch with normal use, it went for 4 days which is a very good number.

Design: More comfort

Not much improvement in the design but we see a titanium chassis which is the same as in iPhone 15 Pro models which makes the watch work even in depths of up to 100m and in extreme cold conditions.

The feedback we have got for the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is that this was very comfortable though earlier versions are all comfortable to wear. But the Ultra 2 is a little more comfortable for people who wear it for longer hours. the watch weighs only 62gm which is very light. The best thing is the combination of a lightweight titanium body and a durable scratch-resistant screen with orange straps.

Features: The difference comes here

• We have a new double tap gesture for better control by simply pinching the fingers. This feature is yet to be released.
• Brighter virtual flashlight option using which we can double the flashlight by turning the Digital Crown.
• ‘On-Device Siri’ feature: No need for the internet to use Siri as it answers your local query related to the device functioning even when the watch is offline. Even when you in a flight with flight mode ‘on’, you can query Siri with questions like maths questions or distance between the cities which can be helpful in various situations where internet data is not available.
• We can use Siri assistance to log Apple Health metrics in different languages.
• We have got a new unique modular Watch Face which is one of the highlights. We get access to multiple apps/widgets in one glance.
• We can now use Digital Crown to access the face widgets directly.
• A good news for the cyclists. In the Apple Watch Ultra 2, we have a new cycling sensor and a few interesting fitness tracking features which can help to get more health-related insights.

The answer depends. If you already have an Apple Watch Ultra, then we don’t suggest upgrading to Apple Ultra 2 as the major features are software-related which we can get in other watches through an OS upgrade. But if you have an older Apple watch model or no smartwatch, then Apple Watch Ultra 2 is worth the upgrade as it has an upgraded processor, GPU, battery and screen technology.
