The Google Pixel 8 Series stands tall in a market flooded with options due to its powerful performance, brilliant camera capabilities and a user-friendly stock Android interface.
We checked the device and had a hands-on experience with both the Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro and can say that these are the devices where beauty meets functionality.
Are Google Pixel phones worth it?
Firstly speaking of the Google Pixel phones, yes Google Pixel phones are the most stylish and luxurious high-end smartphones in the Android segment which compete with Samsung which is a leader in technology, especially in the smartphone market.
Now come to the latest Google Pixel 8 series- Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro. These two latest smartphones have everything top-notch that a normal or hard-core user wants. You get the performance, the camera, the battery, and the display with the highest quality.
So, yes Google Pixel 8 series is worth it if you can afford it. Investing in a smartphone is more than a financial decision. We can say that it is a commitment to your daily lifestyle. Explore the reasons why the Google Pixel 8 Series is worth every penny.
This is the first time Google has launched its smartphones with a higher price tag which is comparable to iPhone 15 models.
Google Pixel 8 price is 75,999 INR and comes in 128GB and 256GB storage options.
Google Pixel 8 Pro price is 1,06,999 INR.
Currently, both models are available on Flipkart and can be pre-ordered. There are good discounts given by ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and Kotak Bank.
The Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 pro release date in India is 4th October 2023. So yes, these are already released in the market though only pre-booking is allowed currently. You can pre-book the Pixel 8 or 8 Pro and just wait for it to land in your hand. We know that the waiting time is a little higher but it is worth it.
The most important thing when talking about a smartphone is the specifications. Below are the Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro specifications.
The design and build quality of both Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro is brilliantly great. It is not that slim (8.8mm) but not a deal breaker. When we look at it while holding it in our hands, it looks beautiful. Google Pixel 8 pro (213gm) is a little heavier than Google Pixel 8 (187gm). This is expected due to the bigger screen and battery. We can easily hold the mobile in our hands but not for small hands as the display is huge.
The glass front (Gorilla Glass Victus 2) and the glass back (Gorilla Glass Victus 2) designed with an aluminium frame look stunning.
It comes with Nano-SIM and eSIM and is IP68 dust/water resistant meaning it can sustain up to 1.5m for 30 good minutes.
In short, there is no compromise on the design and build quality of the Pixel series.
One of the standout features of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro is the vibrant and immersive display.
Google Pixel 8 Pro comes with a huge 6.7-inch Full HD + LTPO OLED along with a sharp screen resolution of 1344 x 2992 pixels and ~489 ppi density supported by 1600 nits (HBM), 2400 nits (peak) which is very good to use the smartphones in direct sunlight. and of course, we get Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 to prevent this beautiful screen from scratches.
Google Pixel 8 comes with a huge 6.2-inch Full HD + OLED along with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and ~428 ppi density supported by 1400 nits (HBM), 2000 nits (peak) which is a little less as compared to the pro model but we will not see much difference. The rest is the same as the Pro model.
The videos and photos look stunning coming out of the screen with deep blacks and vivid colours.
Talking about the refresh rates, both Pixel 8 and 8 Pro displays come with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz which means that the scrolling will be more smoother. Now you can scroll Instagram, Facebook or any article like this one like a pro. But having a higher refresh rate means that it would take more battery. But the battery isn’t a problem in Pixel 8 series Phones.
When it comes to performance, our minds directly think about the processor, the RAM and the internal storage which makes the device a powerful performer for a user.
Now having more RAM and, a better processor means that you will be able to multi-task without experiencing any slowness or playing games without glitches or any other task.
Pixel 8 and 8 Pro are powered by a highly efficient processor and we have a lot of RAM available. This will ensure that the multi-tasking is seamless and goes apps, playing high-intensity graphic games, or any other tasks in which the smartphone does the heavy lifting.
Pixel 8 and 8 Pro are powered by Google Tensor G3 (4 nm) chipset along with Immortalis-G715s MC10 GPU. It is a Nona-core CPU (9 cores) which is rare in smartphones. This combination is a killer combo for a smartphone.
The next things we need to check are the RAM and the internal storage. To handle multiple apps and tasks at once, RAM and internal storage play a major role. If you don’t have enough RAM and ROM, then your mobile will not have enough space to handle multiple apps simultaneously which fails the purpose of a smartphone.
Google Pixel 8 Pro comes in multiple variants and all have 12 GB RAM with increasing internal memory and so are the prices:
128GB 12GB RAM
256GB 12GB RAM
512GB 12GB RAM
1TB 12GB RAM
Google Pixel 8 comes in only two variants with 8GB RAM and varying internal memory (128GB and 256GB):
128GB 8GB RAM
256GB 8GB RAM
All the specs mentioned above make this smartphone a beast and make you a really powerful user of a powerhouse device in your hands. Because we can not use legs :).
An important aspect when we talk about smartphones or any portable device is the ‘Battery’ capacity. The main thing in a smartphone or any device is how long it can sustain in the real world environment.
Google Pixel 8 Pro has a powerful and big 5050 mAh battery and Google Pixel 8 has a little less powerful battery of 4575 mAh as compared to the Pro model. This is justifiable. Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro have good battery life.
Moreover talking about the charging power of these devices. Both Pixel models support reverse wireless charging support. This is a unique feature and not all smartphones have this feature means these can act as wireless charging stations to charge another wireless device which is a cool feature if you have other wireless charging supported devices.
Also, for every user the charging speed matters because we want to use the mobile more and don’t want to keep it near the charging point.
Pixel 8 Pro can be charged at 30W wired (50% in 30 min claimed by the company) and 23W wireless and Pixel 8 can be charged at 27W wired (50% in 30 min claimed by the company) and 18W wireless.
As the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro come with a generous battery and with the combo of software optimisation and the chipset, they can easily last through a day of heavy usage. There are battery-saver modes which can extend the usage for up to 3 days which is great. But at the end of the day, everything depends on the usage.
Checking the AnTuTu score is also a tool to measure the device’s performance in real-life scenarios. AnTuTu is a software tool which is used to set benchmarks for smartphones mainly to compare the devices’ performance.
Numbers speak volumes, especially when it comes to performance. Please note that AnTuTu varies as per different factors while taking the AnTuTu test like load and heat etc.
Google Pixel 8 Pro AnTuTu score is 1185112 points (variable).
Google Pixel 8 AnTuTu score is 1146105 points (variable).
In the battle of giants, the Google Pixel 8 Pro faces off against the iPhone 15 Pro Max. We dissect their features, and compare their strengths and weaknesses, allowing you to make an informed decision based on your preferences.
As we know specifications are an important factor in determining which one we should buy but it also depends on users’ preference for Android Vs iOS. Below are the specs comparison of Google Pixel 8 Pro and iPhone 15 Prop Max as these two are comparable device models.
The Display: Both have almost similar specs with Pixel 8 Pro with little higher resolution and PPI (pixels per inch).
Winner: Tie
The RAM: Pixel 8 Pro comes with higher RAM which is 12 GB as compared to 8 GB in iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Winner: Pixel 8 Pro
The Processor: In our opinion, both have good Chipsets but Apple Chipset A17 Pro is the best one out in the market with its power and overall device optimisation.
Winner: iPhone A17 Pro
The Battery: Pixel 8 Pro wins with a 5050mAh battery against the 4,441mAh Pixel 8 Pro.
Winner: Pixel 8 Pro
Storage: We have many variants in storage and both smartphones go up to 1TB.

The Main Camera: We checked both the mobile cameras and didn’t see much difference from the naked eye in the daylight. We could find Pixel 8 Pro killing the iPhone 15 Pro Max camera when it comes to night mode as it has features called Video Boost and software optimisation. Pixel 8 Pro performs better which is the main reason for Pixel 8 Pro being the winner here.
Front Camera
Winner: Pixel 8 Pro
